Who we are

The site is Storage Made Clear, at storagemadeclear.co.uk. For privacy questions, email hello@storagemadeclear.co.uk. That address is a placeholder until the owner confirms it. We do not name a data-protection lead in this draft because the version you are reading is built not to collect a customer database.

What the calculators do with your numbers

The size calculator and the true cost calculator run on your device. The prices, the length of stay and the optional labels you type are not sent to us in a form, not written to an account, and not emailed. We cannot show them back to you, delete them, or hand them to a storage company, because we do not have them. If you leave the page, they are gone with the page, unless your own browser keeps them in its history. Do not put your name, address or a customer reference in the optional label. It is a nickname for a quote, and it still does not leave the browser, but it does not need to be you.

Cookies and analytics

This version does not load analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. It is built not to set a cookie. There is no cookie banner because there is no optional cookie to accept. If that changes, this notice will be updated first, and a banner will be added if the law requires one. We do not use the calculators as a way to profile visitors.

Emails you send us

If you email the address above, we will have your email address, the content of the message, and whatever you attach. Please do not attach identity documents, payment card numbers, or a photograph of a contract you would not want in an inbox. We will use the message to reply, or to fix a mistake in the guide. We do not add you to a mailing list. You can ask us to delete the email. We will do that unless we have to keep it for a legal reason, which for a one-off correction is unlikely.

Server logs

The company that hosts the site will keep ordinary technical logs. Those typically include the IP address, the browser type, the time, and the address of the page requested. They are there for security and to keep the server running, not for advertising. We do not use them to build marketing profiles. How long the host keeps them is a setting the owner should confirm with the host and record here. This draft does not invent a retention period.

Affiliate links, when they exist

They do not exist yet. When a partner link is switched on, clicking it will take you to that company’s site, and that company will have its own privacy notice. A tracking link can tell the partner that a visit came from this site. We will say so beside the link. Until the switch is on, the pages do not contain those URLs.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We do not pass calculator entries to anyone. A host processes technical logs on our behalf so the site can be served. If you email us, the email provider processes that message so we can read it. We do not transfer a customer list, because we do not hold one.

How long we keep things

Calculator entries: not kept. Emails: kept only as long as needed to deal with the message, then deleted, unless a legal claim means we must hold them. Logs: for the period the host is configured to use, which the owner should fill in after checking the hosting account. This paragraph is a rule the owner has to operate. The software does not keep a CRM to purge.

Your rights

If we do hold personal data about you, UK data protection law gives you rights to access it, correct it, erase it, restrict it, and object to certain uses, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. For this version, the data we are likely to hold is an email you chose to send. Start with the address at the top of this page.

Children

The site is a guide to storage contracts and prices. It is not aimed at children. The student guide is written for adults, including students who are 18 or over, about summer storage. Do not send us a child’s personal details.

Changes

If we add analytics, a form, or live affiliate tracking, this notice will change in the same release. The date on the guides is the content date for the articles. This notice should be read as current for the version that has no cookies and no lead form.
