How to read this estimate
Recurring costs are prorated using a 52-week year. Your provider may charge full periods. Refundable deposits are excluded from the total.
Before choosing
Confirm minimum rental, notice, refund rules, access hours and the rate after any offer. Cheaper does not mean the same service.

The sums,
made clear.
These figures are a worked example, not a market rate or a provider quote.
Read the full methodology →Quote A: £100 a calendar month for three months, plus £20 admin. Total: £320.00.
Quote B: £85 every four weeks for three months, without extras. £85 × 13 × 3 / 12 = £276.25.
The difference is £43.75.
The monthly equivalent is 85 × 13 / 12 = £92.08, rounded. The stay total uses the unrounded conversion.
Offers reduce storage only. Protection uses the period you select. Blank optional costs mean zero; include any additional insurance cost you will actually pay. VAT is not added automatically.

Good questions.
Straight answers.
Do you save my quotes?
No. The comparison runs on this page in your browser. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or the address of the store, and we do not keep the figures.
Why is the deposit not in the total?
A deposit is usually refundable if you leave the unit in the state the contract requires and the bill is paid. It is still cash you may have to hand over, so the result shows it separately. The total used for “which is cheaper” excludes it.
What does the calculator leave out?
It does not know about late fees, price rises after the period you were quoted, notice periods, minimum terms, VAT differences, or a discount that only applies if you pay a year up front. Those belong in the contract, not in a guessed figure.
