Advertising disclosure

Storage Made Clear is a guide. It is not a storage provider. In future, some links to providers may be affiliate links. If you take out storage through one of those links, we may earn a commission. That should not change the price you pay the store. It does not change the calculators, which do not know which company you are typing in.

What is live today

Nothing. Affiliate links are switched off while approval is outstanding. The partner we expect to work with first is Safestore, through the Awin network, and that approval has not landed. Placeholder addresses exist in the site’s configuration so the wiring is ready. They are not printed on the pages, and they are not real tracking links. A button that says “Get a quote from a storage provider” is text, or it points at our own calculator. It is not an advert.

When a link is switched on, it will be recognisable as an advert, it will sit next to a short disclosure, and the HTML will use rel="sponsored nofollow". The footer already links here so the explanation is not only next to a button.

What we do not do

  • We do not run pay-per-click advertising in this version.
  • We do not bid on brand names.
  • We do not sell leads. There is no form that sends your name, email or phone number to us or to a store.
  • We do not let a partner write the guides, and we do not take payment for a particular ranking inside a comparison. The comparison is your two numbers, run through a published formula.

How to read the rest of the site

Guides are written to help you read a contract. They mention the kinds of fees stores charge. Mentioning a fee is not a recommendation to pay it, and it is not a recommendation of a brand. If a sentence ever becomes an advert, it will be labelled as one rather than left to look like a guide.

The commercial policy sits beside the method on how we work. Questions about a specific unit, a reservation or a refund belong to the store you contract with, not to this site. You can still email us about the guide itself. The address is on the contact page.
